Just Close Your Eyes

"Place your hands against the mirror" He whispered. I stared back into the eyes of a reflection that wasn't my own. His face sincere and trusting, beckoning me to succumb to his wish. I slowly raised my hands in front of me, pushing back an invisible force of fear as I reached to place my palms on the reflective glass. The pale hands of my vicarious reflection mirrored my every move, his hands meeting mine against the thin glass wall that separated us. Our eyes met at that same moment, his jade orbs reflecting himself instead of what he was looking at...me. I could feel worry start to contort my face and he saw it too. "Don't fret, just close your eyes and I'll pull you through." His soothing voice calmed my rising fear and I did as he asked. I shut my eyes slowly, blackness enclosing my pale blue irises. The darkness behind my eyes wasn't comforting, and I longed to see his face again. I heard nothing, but felt the air around me chill. I wanted to pull away, but fingers started to lace with mine. The mirror under my hands quickly replaced by his and I felt our palms slowly embrace, our fingers interlaced. I felt a sense of security and kept my eyes shut as I was pulled slowly through the enigmatic mirror.



-I called this Interlaced. It came to me one night and I'm not sure what I'm gonna apply it to, but here it is.
